Vertical Multistage Pumps

Vertical Multistage Pumps

Vertical multistage high-pressure centrifugal pumps with a ring-section design. Suction and discharge nozzles of the same nominal diameter are arranged opposite each other (in-line). Pump and motor are close-coupled in a monoblock unit, supplied as standard with an IE3 efficiency class motor.

Thanks to their vertical shaft and in-line layout, these pumps take up little floor space and deliver efficient performance wherever high pressure is needed — from booster and pressurisation systems to irrigation, washing plants and industrial process lines. Cast iron and stainless steel casing options cover a wide range of fluids, from clean water to aggressive media.

Advantages

Energy Efficiency

  • High hydraulic efficiency for low operating costs.
  • Very low NPSH values for efficient, cavitation-free operation.
  • Motors up to IE5 efficiency class with speed control for maximum energy efficiency; pump performance can be monitored at any time.

Flexibility

  • A wide choice of materials and connections suits a broad range of applications.
  • Extended temperature and pressure range.
  • Specially developed low-NPSH impeller options for critical suction conditions.

Reliability

  • Fluid-lubricated tungsten carbide plain bearings run trouble-free for long periods.
  • A robust pump foot and torsion-resistant casing provide structural strength.
  • O-rings recessed in their seats ensure reliable sealing.

Easy Servicing

  • Compatible with all mechanical seals to EN 12756.
  • Cartridge seal option and easy-access design for fast seal replacement.

Long Service Life

  • Stainless steel hydraulic parts resist corrosion and extend pump service life.

Energy Savings

  • Variable speed control keeps the pump running only as hard as needed.
  • The magnet-free synchronous reluctance motor option reaches IE5 efficiency level.*

* The IE5 efficiency class (IEC/TS 60034-30-2) motor option is available in certain power ranges. Please contact our sales team to check suitability.

Design and Construction Features

  • Ring-section, multistage hydraulic design
  • In-line suction and discharge nozzles of the same nominal diameter
  • Close-coupled (monoblock) pump–motor design, IE3 motor as standard
  • Optional magnet-free synchronous reluctance motor in IE4/IE5 efficiency class, operated with a speed controller that requires no rotor position sensor
  • Motor mounting dimensions to EN 50347, overall dimensions to DIN V 42673
  • ATEX-compliant version available for explosive atmospheres

How to Choose

  1. Determine the flow rateThe total water demand at peak use (m³/h) determines the pump series and impeller size.
  2. Calculate the headAdd static height, pipe friction losses and the required outlet pressure; the result sets the number of stages of the vertical pump.
  3. Define the fluid and temperatureClean water, hot water or chemical-laden fluid; the operating temperature between -20 °C and +140 °C affects mechanical seal selection.
  4. Select material and motorCast iron or stainless steel casing depending on the fluid; an IE3 motor or a frequency-controlled high-efficiency motor for energy savings.
